Bring perpetrators of heinous murder to justice — CODEC

Coalation of Defence of Equal Citizenship (CODEC) has called on the security services to investigate and bring perpetrators of the heinous murder of Alhaji Adams Mahama to justice.

In a statement, CODEC learnt with utter shock and dismay the heinous killing of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.

“CODEC, which strongly upholds and believes in the constitutional provisions of equal citizenship, which guarantees equal rights, including that to life, will like to hereby encourage the police and other national security agencies to do all that is possible to treat this matter as a criminal matter and not a political one and to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice,” the statement added.

It stated that CODEC believed that this incident was shameful and peeled off from the progress made in the advancement of our democracy.

“Political strife and disagreement should never degenerate into violence of any nature. We therefore call on all actors on the political stage to conduct themselves in a manner that will constantly promote and sustain the peace and legacy of our democratic dispensation,” it stated.

CODEC also expressed its condolence with the family on their untimely loss and prayed that the soul of Alhaji Mahama find rest with his maker.
