Four persons including former chairperson, Samia Yaba Nkrumah, Joseph Agyapong, former presidential aspirant, Bright Akwetey and former General Secretary , Ivor Greenstreet are the ones to be vetted.

One of Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s sons, Dr Onzy Nathan Nkrumah who had wanted to also file to contest could however not meet the requirements.

The Communication Director of the party, Kadri Abdul Rauf Issifu explained Dr Nkrumah's candidature was rejected because he issued a cheque for his filing fee instead of cash or banker's draft.

“Onzy Nkrumah, the party was unable to accept his nomination forms because he could not comply with the rules. The rule was that when you to file, you must either bring your money in cash or through a banker’s draft."

Unfortunately, he presented a cheque and then it was against the rule so the time that he also presented the cheque it was so close to the closing of the nomination that for the party to cash it or turn it into a bankers draft it was going to be somehow difficult so the party reluctantly declined to accept his nomination.”, he said.
