First Lady calls for peaceful elections - Campaigns in Trobu, Okaikoi North
In the final leg of political campaigns towards this year’s general elections, the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has appealed to electorates to exercise their franchise peacefully come December 7, 2024.
“Saturday, December 7 isn’t a war. Peacefully go and cast your vote. Do not be afraid, nothing will happen. We have the security services who will be in control so go and cast your vote peacefully and let Ghana move on to better heights,” the First Lady urged.

She gave the advice on a thank you tour of the Trobu and Okaikoi North constituencies in Accra on Monday which also saw her canvass for votes to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power.
Interacting with party faithful’s, Mrs Akufo-Addo underscored the importance of continuity for true development of every nation.
As such, she appealed to the electorates to keep the NPP in power to continue with development initiatives that it had implemented over the years for the wellbeing of citizens.
“President Akufo-Addo made many promises to you when he was seeking the nod and he has delivered on almost all of them but Ghana deserves a lot more and the only person to continue these good works, is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” she said.
The First Lady praised Dr Bawumia for his intelligence and unique capabilities which are needed for modern-day developmental needs.
“Dr Bawumia understands digitilisation and technology which are needed in our present world to solve present day challenges and when voted into office, he has many ideas to bring on board to advance Ghana’s development,” she said.

While urging supporters to “spread the good news” to support Dr Bawumias win in the elections, Mrs Akufo-Addo further implored them to vote for parliamentary aspirants; Gloria Owusu and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei to win the Trobu and Okaikoi-North constituencies, respectively.
Ms Owusu on her part urged all eligible voters in the Trobu Constituency to vote massively for the NPP for a one-touch victory.
“We do not want the situation where the NDC will disagree with losing this elections so let us vote massively and widen the gap so they will not have any reason to contest the results.

Vote number one for both Dr Bawumia and Gloria and tell all your friends, family, loved ones to do same,” she urged.
For her part, Ms Asiamah-Adjei encouraged her constituents to feel free to cast their votes on Saturday, assuring them of utmost security on the day.
