Ghana holds flag-raising ceremony to mark AU Day

A flag-raising ceremony was Monday held at the forecourt of the State House to mark African Union (AU) Day.

Although the actual date was Sunday, May 25, Ghana decided to commemorate the day yesterday.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms Hannah Tetteh, said Ghana would continue to be at the forefront steering efforts to make  the African continent peaceful and prosperous.

That, she  said, would be done by incorporating policies and initiatives of the AU in national development programmes and institutional framework and indicated that  it was time to consider solutions to Africa's challenges that would enable it to have a positive impact on others.
