Anloga DCE marks first anniversary, highlights key development gains in the district

Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Anloga District in the Volta Region, has marked her first anniversary in office, reflecting a year of developmental interventions across many fields. 

It includes infrastructure, education, health, sanitation, and economic empowerment within the enclave.

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Kpedor expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, noting that her tenure was guided by commitment, accountability, and a determination to advance the district’s development agenda.

“This moment marks exactly one year since I was endorsed by the hardworking Assembly Members and subsequently sworn in as the District Chief Executive for the Anloga District Assembly.

I am deeply grateful to the Highest for the fortitude, strength, and wisdom granted to me for the work done so far, and for the many tasks that lie ahead,” she stated.  

She further pledged her “unalloyed commitment and dedication to the growth and development of the Anloga District,” assuring residents of responsible and accountable leadership.

During an exclusive engagement with the Ghana News Agency in her office on Monday, the District Chief Executive outlined series of completed projects as well as ongoing interventions, while discussing her achievements since assuming office.

In the area of infrastructure and public facilities, achievements includedd the completion and commissioning of the Anloga Taxi Station, completion of the Chief Executives’ official residence, improvement of access roads within Anloga Market and its surrounding, patching of potholes on the main Keta-Anloga highway from Tegbi to Galo-Sota Junctio, and provision of a grader to support road reshaping works in Aklufodzi and its communities.

Additionally, high-capacity solar-powered streetlights were installed at Fenyiota and Nyakpati to enhance security and visibility at night.  

According to her, she also successfully lobbied for the inclusion of the Genui main road under the national “Big Push” infrastructure programme.

She indicated that safety on water bodies for both school children and traders was also enhanced through the provision of safety or life jackets to boat operators along the Anyanui–Torokor, Vume, and Ada Foah routes on the Volta Lake.  

Access to potable water was extended to Tsorgbakope, Alakpoe, and Amedelokpoe in the Agbledomi area with support from Global Affairs Canada.  

The district also facilitated temporary office space for the National Health Insurance Authority.-GNA
