NDC will sweep 98% of votes in Central Tongu — Hottordze

Incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Tongu, Alexander Hottordze, is confident he will sweep 98 per cent of the 50,000 votes in the parliamentary elections on December 7.

The NDC Legislator, going for his third term bid in Parliament, won 96.7 per cent of the votes in 2016 and 88.1 per cent in 2020.

Mr Hottordze, who said this in an interview with the Daily Graphic, predicted a similar margin for the NDC Presidential candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama.

He said Ghanaians were yearning for a change and desperate for relief from hardships because the ruling New Patriotic Party had done more harm to the economy than any other government.

Mr Hottordze said voting for the NPP would amount to turning Ghana into a lifeless country.

“It is production that drives an economy and leads to wealth and the NDC’s secret to increasing production is the 24-Hour Economy policy,” he maintained.

Mr Hottordze said job creation for young people would be his priority when given the nod again.

The MP said Ghana was at a crossroads in her political history and needed a visionary leader to restore hope among the people.

For that matter, he urged the people to vote massively for the NDC’s flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama to steer the affairs of the country with vision.

Peace

He entreated supporters of the NDC to remain calm in the countdown to the election even in the face of provocation from their political opponents.

The lawmaker said victory for the NDC in the 2024 election was a foregone conclusion for which reason the party’s supporters must avoid all forms of confrontation with their political opponents to make the victory unequivocal.

He urged voters in the constituency to come out in the numbers in December and vote for the NDC to save the country from misery.

“This time, it will not be business as usual; it will be a resounding victory for the NDC in the constituency and the rest of the country,” he said.
