PNC to elect 2024 flag bearer Aug. 31
The People's National Convention (PNC) has set Saturday, August 31 to elect its flag bearer for the 2024 general election and other executive officers of the party.

The decision was taken at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held last Saturday, August 10. It also constituted a congress committee and various ad hoc committees to oversee the elections.
A statement issued by the acting General Secretary of PNC, Prince Agyemang Duah, to announce the party’s primaries after the meeting, said interested members are to pick up their forms at the party headquarters from Monday, August 12, to Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Filing fees
Meanwhile, an earlier statement said flag bearer hopefuls are expected to pay GH¢100,000 as filing fee.
The party indicated that the vice-chairperson and general secretary positions are going for GH¢25,000 while the national organiser aspirants will pay GH¢15,000.
In the case of the National Chairperson position, prospective candidates are expected to pay GH¢35,000.
The national women’s organiser, national treasurer and national youth organiser aspirants will each pay GH¢10,000, with their deputy positions set for GH¢5,000 each.
The nomination forms for the various positions are as follows: GH¢200 for the regional elections, GH¢500 for the national elections and GH¢2,000 for the presidential election.

A former national chairman of the party, Bernard Mornah, and the 2020 flag bearer aspirant, Sampson Asaki Awingobit, have so far expressed their intentions to contest for the PNC’s flag bearer position.
The PNC, on June 13, 2024, issued a statement to announce the opening of nominations, the cost of forms and filing fees for aspiring presidential candidates.
The party also gave up to August 31, 2024, to complete its primaries to contest in this year’s elections. It announced that the cost of the filing fees for persons interested in leading the party in the election as the flag bearer was GH¢100,000.
