Promote me to President - Dr Bawumia to electorate
The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged Ghanaians to promote him to the position of President to continue with his good works.
As Vice-President, he said, he had come up with 33 policies to support President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and “it is a clear indication that I have passed the job as Vice-President and so promote me to continue with the work as President.”

Dr Bawumia said this during his tour of the two Awutu Senya constituencies in the Central region last Monday (September 2, 2024).
“I want you in this coming election to look at what is better for the future of this country. If you look at the work I have done as Vice-President, you will not find a Vice President in the history of this country who has done more work than Dr Bawumia
“Let us go and work hard. Where we have got to with the work, we need not make any mistake because the NDC will derail the progress made,” he said.
Meeting
As part of his tour of the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Dr Bawumia held a meeting with opinion leaders including the clergy, Imams and traditional leaders during which he shared his message of “bold solutions” to the people.
These included making agriculture a priority and boosting the current power generation with 2000 megawatts of solar power to minimise the cost of electricity by 50 per cent.
He also promised to support market women with capital through the women’s trade empowerment fund as well as to establish a bank for Small and Medium Enterprises.

The NPP Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, stressed the need for peaceful elections in the constituency.
