Rally behind CPP to break duopoly - Nana Frimpomaa urges electorate
The Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Akosua Frimpomaa, has called on the electorate to rally behind the party to break the eight year governance cycle of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
She said the duopoly has not brought about improvement in the lives of the citizenry and it was time for Ghanaians to give the CPP the chance to take over the reins of power to promote a vision of a better Ghana where everyone has equal opportunities.

Nana Frimpomaa made the call at an event held at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra last Saturday to marked the 115 birthday of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the founder of the CPP and first President of Ghana.
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, which falls on September 21, every year is a public holiday to celebrate the birthday of Dr Nkrumah who was born at Nkroful in the Western Region on September 21, 1909.
Nana Frimpomaa who was introduced by the party’s Interim Committee Chairman, Wing Commander Patrick Sogborjor (retd), at the event to party supporters becomes CPP’s first female presidential candidate since independence and the return to multiparty democracy in 1992.
Running mate
Also at the colourful ceremony, Nana Frimpomaa introduced Wayoe Ghanamannti, a lawyer with an international reputation for his pro-bono services to vulnerable and marginalised groups, as her running mate for the 2024 general election.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa launched the GhanaBa Shares manifesto of the CPP, aiming to empower 20 million Ghanaians with $20billion and make them owners of the state.
This bold initiative has the potential to transform Ghana's economy and society, promoting economic independence and ownership.

Call to action
In her address, Nana Frimpomaa urged all Ghanaians to rally behind the CPP, pledging to replace the duopoly, which has not brought about improvement in the lives of Ghanaians and promote a vision of a better Ghana where everyone has equal opportunities.
She urged the youth to unite and reclaim their country.
“Let us work together to make Ghana work again. The time has come for the youth to take over," Nana Frimpomaa said, emphasising the need for youth leadership.
Nana Frimpomaa stressed self-reliance, saying, “God will do nothing for you until you get up to do something for yourself."

She invoked Dr Nkrumah's spirit, calling for selflessness, dedication and belief in oneself.
She pledged that the CPP would complete Dr Nkrumah's seven-year development plan, truncated after three years, adding, “Osagyefo during that period built the Akosombo dam and 400 factories.”
Voting reminder
“Give us the four years to finish the dream of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah," Nana Frimponmaa appealed to the electorate.

The running mate to the CPP presidential candidate, Mr Ghanamannti, reminded Ghanaians that December 7 was election day and stressed the significance of voting for the CPP, represented by number 7 on the ballot.
He stated that a vote for the CPP was a vote for the people, a vote for ownership, equity and long-awaited economic independence.
Background
Nana Akosua Frimpomaa, a former National Chairperson of the CPP, was elected as the 2024 flag bearer of the party in a decentralised congress held across the 16 regional capitals in the early part of September, this year.

She went on to file her nominations as the CPP's presidential candidate for the 2024 elections and was among the 13 presidential candidates cleared by the Electoral Commission to contest the presidential polls on December 7.
