This was contained in a letter written by the leader of the group Mr Richard Nyamah on Thursday February 18, 2016. The letter states: “The best interest of Ghana must always be served by all citizens.”

The group claims that Mrs Osei has violated the constitution by holding two positions and that whiles serving as chair of the Electoral Commission, she also served on the board of the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited.

In January when the issue came up, the insurance company explained Mrs Osei resigned her position as board member at the end of December 2015.

Mr Nyamah said he takes the view that the EC boss’s belated resignation from Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited was a breach of Article 44(4) of the Constitution.

Mr Nyamah said “He seeks to exercise his right as a citizen to uphold the Constitution against such acts of serious misconduct, and looks forward to demonstrate that she exercised grave misjudgment and violated the Constitutional requirements of her office with terms and conditions of service as a Justice of the Court of Appeal” and is therefore no longer fit to remain in that august office.
