They are, however, asking the EC to come clear on whether or not it will make special arrangement for the people of Natriku electoral area to vote since they did not take part in the local level election which took place in the municipality in December last year.

Presently, the fate of the people in that area is not known since the EC is now excluding the entire municipality (including them) from the imminent election slated for March next year.

Reacting to a press release issued by the EC and signed by its Deputy Chairman (Operations),  Amadu Sulley,  a spokesperson for Kloma Gbi, Hilary Saki Kodji said, “The EC couldn't have taken a better decision considering the fact that our assembly members were elected just a year ago and sworn into office barely 10 months ago. The constitution provides for, at least, a four-year term for assembly members and the commission couldn't have flouted this”.

“While welcoming the decision to exclude Lower Manya, we want the commission to tell us whether the people of Natriku,  who were not part of last year’s elections- would be given a special consideration to vote in their electoral area and elect their assembly man. We need to know and the EC must be forthright with this information”, he said.
