Losing election not end of world — NPP women
A former Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Madam Kate Gyamfua, has urged aggrieved disqualified contestants seeking redress at the law courts after the just-ended constituency elections to rescind their decision because they could still serve in other capacities ‘‘to make President Akufor Addo’s 2020 victory a reality’’.
She said the rebuilding of the party’s structures towards maintaining power had begun and such legal actions could have far-reaching consequences on the chances of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2020 general election.

Madam Gyamfua, who is one of the aspirants vying to become the National Women’s Organiser at the June party polls, told the Daily Graphic the “beauty of democracy is that some may lose and some may win, but in the end, we all have to work together to achieve a common goal”.
“Losing an election is not the end of the world and your participation to party activities; there are other capacities you can assist in to make Nana Addo’s 2020 victory a reality.
“I am ready to assist you in any of such capacities. We wish you good luck in your future party endeavours,” she said.
While congratulating both winners and losers, she urged them to help the party “continue to enjoy peace and unity” even after the election to make a strong case that the party was ready for 2020.
Madam Gyamfua called on the leadership of the party not to neglect the aggrieved individuals but find a way of bringing everybody on board to build a stronger NPP.
The national women’s organiser aspirant said the real job was about to start and it would require working closely together to help President Akufo-Addo win his second term in 2020.
Tema Central
Meanwhile, delegates in the Tema Central Constituency of the NPP have retained Mr Charles Boateng as the Chairman at a constituency election held at the TDC Park last week Saturday.

Mr Boateng, who contested the election unopposed, said his vision was to mobilise more support for the party in the constituency to enable it to increase its margin of votes for the party in the presidential election and strengthen its grip on the parliamentary seat.
Mr Boateng, who is a businessman, stated, "Going into the 2016 election, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had about 14,000 votes and we worked hard to reduce it to 11,000.
It is our plan to further reduce their votes in this constituency to about 9,000 and this is what my team and I will do to ensure a massive win for our great party."

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr K.B Brako, commended the candidates and delegates for the peaceful nature of the polls and advised members to forge ahead in unity and work towards the success of the party.
"The expectations of the electorate in this constituency are very high and it is only by working hard as a team that we can meet or even exceed those expectations.
My desire is to continue to be popular among the people for them to love me and with this team in place, I am confident we can achieve our aim," he noted.
Kpone-Katamanso
In the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, the over 600 delegates retained the incumbent Chairman, Nana Sipim, and the Secretary, Mr Felix Tetteh, for another term of office.
Other executive members elected are Mr William Kissi as First Vice-Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed as Second Vice-Chairman, Mr Mutawakilu Bashiru as Organiser, Mr Abdulai Abdallah as Assistant Secretary, Madam Agnes Owiredu as Women's Organiser, Mr Kwesi Fynn as Youth Organiser, Mr Joseph Gbeze as Treasurer and Mr Seidu Adam as NASARA Coordinator.
