Mahama to file nomination for 2024 presidential election on Monday
The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, will file his nomination papers for the upcoming presidential elections on Monday, September 9, at 2 pm.
He will be accompanied by his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, spokesperson for the Mahama campaign, confirmed the filing, underscoring its importance and the campaign’s focus on inclusivity and economic recovery.
“This is a momentous occasion for the NDC as we gear up to build the Ghana we want together. Our campaign focuses on jobs, accountability, development, and a better future for all Ghanaians,” said Madam Mogtari.
Among his key promises, Mahama has promised to strengthen Ghana’s educational system by investing in infrastructure and teacher training to ensure no child is left behind. He also aims to improve healthcare services, committing to provide accessible and free primary healthcare for every Ghanaian.
Meanwhile, Mahama will embark on a four-day tour of the Bono Region starting Sunday.
The tour will cover all 12 constituencies, including courtesy calls on traditional councils, community engagements, and meetings with religious leaders. He is also expected to address the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
During the tour, Mahama will host a youth forum at the Sunyani Technical University. He has pledged to revitalize the economy by creating job opportunities through innovative policies and initiatives aimed at spurring growth.

With the election approaching, Mahama seeks to rally support across the nation to achieve the vision of building a better Ghana.
