Minority stages brief 'walkout' at Supreme Court nominee's vetting
Minority members of the Appointments Committee in Parliament Monday staged a brief walkout during vetting of Supreme Court nominees.
Their action, they said, was as a result of what they claimed was an unfair ruling by the chairperson of the committee against one of their members.
Okudzeto Ablakwa (North Tongu) had sought from Justice Clemence Honyenuga, a nominee, how he intended to reconcile an alleged endorsement by him of President Akufo-Addo for a second term much against the code of ethics for judges and justices in Ghana.

However, the chairperson of the committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu, refused to allow the question on the grounds that it had earlier been answered several times.
Led by Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority Leader, the group walked out of the vetting for a brief conference on what to do next.
The conference lasted about five minutes, following which they returned to resume their seats.
