Alhaji died early Thursday morning after suffering an acid attack in his vehicle, an act allegedly visited on him by two yet-to-be identified assailants.

The NDC urged the police to do all it could to bring the criminals behind the attack to book and asked the police not to treat the matter as an internal party matter but a matter that has serious national security implications.

The statement signed by NDC general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia also stated:

“We also call on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to take urgent steps to quell the growing level of violence and lawlessness that has characterized the activities of the party which has no doubt resulted in this needless loss of life. These acts of violence and lawlessness are casting an undeserved slur on our reputation as a peaceful and democratic country.”
