NPP Subin 'fight': John Boadu settles rift between MP and party chairman
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) acting General Secretary John Boadu has settled a long- standing feud between the Subin Constituency NPP chairman and the Member of Parliament for Subin in the Ashanti Region.

The feud which nearly disintegrated the party at that level created a lot of animosity among party members in the constituency.

Chairman Francis Kwabena Boamah and the MP, Eugene Antwi, have been running parallel administrations in the constituency since the party won power last year.
Disagreement
The disagreement between the two started when Mr Antwi declared his intention to contest for the seat. He was allegedly not the choice of the chairman and his team and was subsequently deserted.
Luck, however, smiled at the MP, who also doubles as the deputy minister of Works and Housing, when he won both the primary and the main election with about 7,000 votes.
The victory of the MP marked the beginning of an unending struggle for power and authority in the constituency.
After a failed attempt by the regional executive to restore order and allow the party structures to work, the Steering Committee of the party mandated Mr Boadu to ensure that there is peace and unity at the constituency.

Mr Boadu told journalists after the one-hour 'conflict resolution' meeting at Asafo in Kumasi that the two had agreed to allow the party's structures to work and to build on the fortunes of previous victories.
As a result, all party activities are expected to be held at the constituency office, with the chairman as the head.
The constituency secretary is also to reactivate his mandate as being in charge of the day-to-day running of the office while signatories to the constituency accounts agreed.
Mr Boadu commended the two for their display of maturity and love for the party and added that disagreements were bound to happen in any human institution, but it was the way it was handled that determined its survival.
