
Prof. Seidu Alidu wins Tamale Central NDC Parliamentary Primary
Professor Seidu Mahama Alidu, a former Head of the Political Science Department at the University of Ghana, has won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Tamale Central Constituency.
He secured 840 votes, defeating 11 other contenders. A total of 1,500 valid votes were cast, with one rejected ballot recorded.
His closest contender, Abdul Hanan Gundadow, a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Tamale, polled 536 votes.
Prof. Alidu’s decisive victory secures him the NDC’s parliamentary ticket to replace the late Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
