PWDs root for Ivor Greenstreet

A number of Persons With Disability (PWDs) in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region have declared their support for the 2016 Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, to win the December general election.

They gave their support when Mr Greenstreet addressed a number of the PWDs at the GNAT Hall in Kumasi as part of his recent six-day Apam Fofor tour of the region.

He said it was about time all PWDs joined their “brother” to fight the injustice, hopelessness, insanity and darkness brought about by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He asked Ghanaians especially PWDs to vote massively for him because “the man in the wheel is shrouded with visionary ideas to keep the fortunes of Ghana turning”.

He said he was inspired by the fact that the 32nd US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, was a Person with Disability and added that he could deliver to expectation as president.

Spokesperson of PWDs

The Spokesperson for the PWDs, Mr Amoah Cudjoe, on behalf of the people said apart from the fact that Mr Greenstreet was one of them physically, they saw him as a visionary.

He said among the presidential candidates of the various political parties, the group had made the comparison and Mr Greenstreet had always remained tall.

He assured Mr Greenstreet and his CPP team that the group would mobilise all PWDs in the country, beginning with the Ashanti Region, to vote massively for him in the upcoming general election.

Resourcing PWDs in Amansie West

While on the tour, the CPP presidential candidate took turns to meet members of the PWD in the Amansie West District at Antoakrom.

He assured them of his maximum support both in his personal capacity and as presidential candidate of the CPP to help reform PWDs.

He said his party had in place better and enviable policies to improve the lives of PWDs and asked them to vote for him to become president.

The Secretary of the PWDs at Amansie West, Mr Kofi Nti, expressed his gratitude to Mr Greenstreet for thinking about them and on behalf of the group pledged support for him.

Mr Greenstreet also inaugurated a mechanised borehole at the Jachie Skills Training Centre for the Disabled in the Bosomtwe Constituency.
