In all, over 120,000 delegates took part in the exercise which was overwhelmingly won by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

From Ho, Tim Dzamboe and Mary Anane report that even though the Volta Region has 26 constituencies, voting took place in 25 of them, as an injunction had been placed on voting in Ho Central by the Ho High Court as a result of a disagreement over the true voters register to use, as two registers had emerged.

Voting went on smoothly in some of the constituencies visited by the team.

The only place where there was a bit of a problem was Ketu South where some of the people who had come earlier could not find their names in the register which contained the names of five people each from 127 polling stations, in addition to 16 executives and 40 co-ordinators.

There were also delegates who had their names in the register but whose pictures could not be found.

At the end of the voting, Nana Akufo-Addo carried the day with a huge number of votes from all the constituencies and his supporters took to the streets dancing.

Mr Alan Kyerematen lost Ketu North, considered to be his stronghold in the region, to Nana Akufo-Addo, the latter polling 273 votes while the former got 167, with Mr Addai-Nimoh bagging five.

Shirley Asiedu-Addo reports from Cape Coast that Nana Akufo-Addo overwhelmingly won the presidential primary in the Central Region.

According to results collated in the region, the candidate polled 10,683 votes, representing 96.35 per cent of the votes cast.

The two-time presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, polled 11,856 votes to emerge the winner in the  Northern Region, according to our correspondent, Samuel Duodu in Tamale.

His closest contender, Mr Kyerematen, secured 344 votes, while  Mr Addai-Nimoh got 87 votes, with 369 rejected ballots.

A total of 13,160 delegates were supposed to vote in the elections in the 31 constituencies in the region but at the end of the polls, 12,656 turned up to cast their ballots.

From Baakoniaba in the Brong Ahafo Region, our correspondent, Kwame Asiedu Marfo, reports that Nana Akufo-Addo polled 12,632 votes, while Mr Addai-Nimoh got 162 votes, with Mr Kyerematen polling 752.

Total valid votes cast were 13,546, with 127 rejected ballots.

There was a long queue around 9 a.m. when the Daily Graphic went to the GNAT Hall at Baakoniaba, near Sunyani, with the delegates very eager to cast their votes.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic after the declaration of the results, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Mr Kwasi  Ameyaw-Cheremeh, said the NPP was a big family and that members of the party should show love to one another.

According to our Western Regional Correspondent, Akwasi Ampratwum-Mensah, delegates to the presidential primary in the region called for absolute peace and unity to prevail in the party, since that was a prerequisite to enable the party to campaign vigorously in the run-up to the 2016 general elections and eventually wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

At the end of it all, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 11,420 votes, representing 96.4 per cent; Mr Kyerematen had 308 votes, representing 2.6 per cent, while Mr Addai-Nimoh obtained 59 votes, constituting 0.5 per cent.
