Support in-coming govt to perform according to nation’s needs - Evangelical Presbyterian Church Clerk
The Clerk for the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), Rev Dr Lawrence Dzanku, has urged the citizenry to set aside their political differences and re-unite as one family for the progress of the nation.
He was speaking at a watch night service at the Dela Cathedral at Ho-Kpodzi to usher in the New Year.
The service was on the theme: "With God, all things are possible."
Rev Dr Dzanku said there was no need for Ghanaians to carry the pains of the past into the New Year, adding the brighter prospects the people were longing for could only be achieved with a united front, patriotism and love for one another.
“So, we expect everybody to help to carry his neighbours burden, and we expect the rich to break their bread with the poor for goodwill to prevail in society,” he added.
The Clerk of the General Assembly of the EPCG said service to mankind was service to God, and for that matter any of kindness to one’s neighbour was to God as well.
He said society would never be a happy place if one section lived in gluttony and the other had little to keep them on their feet.
For that matter, the clergyman entreated Ghanaians to eschew all forms of greed and show concern for the wellbeing of their compatriots.
