Work for decisive victory in 2016

Campaign to support NDC
In a chat with the Daily Graphic, Mr Manly-Spain pointed out that he had personally embarked on a campaign to intensify his support for the NDC’s cause and to attain the better Ghana agenda for all.
In line with this, he said he was visiting some constituencies within the Greater Accra Region to share party experiences, find out challenges confronting the constituency offices and offer his widow’s mite by way of logistical support.
He argued that in a mass party such as the NDC, there were bound to be logistical challenges which required all hands on deck to solve.
“No one individual can solve the problems but with a collective action and unity of purpose, we will overcome,” he told the Daily Graphic.
Key objective
According to Mr Manly-Spain, it is his key objective to contribute his quota to ensure that the Greater Accra Regional constituency offices of the NDC were very functional to play their expected roles as the 2016 elections approached.
“I am currently looking at the Gt. Accra Region and what can be done to support them,” he told the Daily Graphic, and mentioned that “ in the past years, I have been on the ground working to support the party’s foot soldiers and I intend to continue to make the NDC a party of choice.”

He said his visit to some of the constituencies had revealed many teething problems, and mentioned the burden of the payment of electricity bills, hiring of canopies and chairs for political education, and welfare meetings, as well as other logistical needs as some of the critical ones.
Mr Manly-Spain said so far, he had visited 12 out of 34 NDC constituencies in the region and was working on an effective strategy to help.
He said lack of job opportunity for the party’s foot soldiers and the youth also came up during his visit.
According to Mr Manly-Spain, some of the foot soldiers who contributed to the 2012 electoral victory of the NDC feel ignored, and it is time “we arrested this problem by eliminating their concerns.”

Call centre
He disclosed that he would open a novelty call centre to enhance his interaction with the NDC party at the grass roots.
He stressed that the center was aimed at ensuring party supporters were always in touch with the party and themselves, constantly drawing attention to their needs and suggesting pragmatic strategies to win the 2016 elections hands down.
Message of hope
On whether or not the NDC’s Better Ghana agenda was on course, Mr Manly-Spain declared; “Sure, the NDC agenda is on course and we will work to ensure that we succeed in 2016.”
