Dede Ayew returns

After what was expected to be a long recovery period for midfielder Andre Dede Ayew, the Ghanaian international finally returned from injury and to a winning one as Marseille thumped Bastia 3-0 in the French Ligue 1.

Dede Ayew, who has been off action since last November after he sustained an injury during Ghana's final World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Cairo.

He underwent surgery and had to sit out for three months.

From all indications, the medical team worked hard on the influential midfielder, getting him to return to action as scheduled.

Dede Ayew, who has played a key role in Marseille's campaign, scoring some crucial goals, came on as a substitute for Florian Thauvin and even though he did not score, his contribution helped Marseille to the emphatic win.

having lost their grip on the Ligue 1 title, Marseille fifth on the log and who at the moment trail league leaders, Paris Saint Germain by 15 points, will be hoping to secure a Champions League spot when the competition is over and thus consider Dede Ayew's return as timely.
