According to the report, President John Mahama met Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, and GFA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, for several hours to discuss the budget.
Afriyie-Ankrah and Nyantakyi, the report noted, underscored the need for that amount, saying it will not only provide football satisfaction for players and fans, but also help to boost the Ghanaian economy.

Mr Nyantakyi is said to have pointed out that a good showing at the World Cup will involve stringent preparations, which will see the Black Stars play a maximum of three friendlies.

The Sports Minister, for his part, proposed setting up six committees to help maximise Ghana's stay in Brazil through best practices, the Citifmonline reported noted.

If this proposal is approved, the committees, according to the report, will oversee the following areas:

1) Protocol and Supporters, to be headed by Hon. Kojo Adu-Asare.

2) Events and Logistics, to be headed by Horace Ankrah.

3) Marketing, to be headed by Joel Nettey.

4) Media and Communication, to be headed by Ackah Anthony.

5) Trade, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, to be headed by Hon. Elizabeth Agyare.

6) Health, Sanitation, Safety and Security, to be headed by Alhaji Saeed Lartey.
