Hasaacas kick out Liberty

Sekondi Hasaacas yesterday beat Dansoman- based Liberty Professional  2-0 in their MTN/FA Cup tie at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Essipon, to cruise to the next stage of the competition.

Michael Boakye put the homesters ahead on 43rd minute through a spot kick, while striker Richard Yamoah doubled the lead on 67th minute.

But there was confusion over Yamoah’s goal as the ball passed through an opening under the net and the visitors protested against the goal.

However, after a brief hold up, the game resumed as Hasaacas maintained their dominance and kept the visitors on the back foot for the greater part of the game.

It was a game that the homesters deserved to win as at 28th minute, Liberty were saved by the woodwork from a powerful freekick  by Tufour Frimpong.

 Liberty came close on 40th minute  but had  their effort  foiled by the brilliance of goalkeeper George Owu in the Hasaacas post.
