Hearts, Kotoko clash
Come Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, retired footblll greats of the nation’s two most glamorous clubs will attempt to rekindle their rivalry at the Accra Sports Stadium in a friendly encounter.
Former legends of Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko clash again in a return leg of their May 25 epic clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium where they took fans down memory lane with some deft touches, skills and wizardry reminiscent of the former days.
Organised by PeacePower Sports, the home-and-away encounters are expected to be an annual affair aimed at strengthening ties between the two clubs and rekindling age-old rivalry between the one-time football greats, whose exploits in the past still provide fans nostalgic feelings.
Kotoko will be led by ‘Wizard Dribbler’ Reverend Osei Kofi, Joe Debrah, ‘Lord Zico’ Opoku Nti, Prince Opoku Polley, Michael Osei, Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah and his assistant Maxwell Konadu, while Hearts will have among their enviable stock ‘Dribbling Magician’ Mohammed Polo, Sam ‘Foyoo’ Johnson, Emmanuel ‘Senegal’Armah, Joe Addo, Hesse ‘Mazoola’ Odamten, Sampson Lamptey (Gaddafi), among others.
