Inter Allies FC beat Heart of Lions 2-1

Kpando Hearts of Lions succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Inter Allies FC at the Tema Sports Stadium in the week 25 Premier League tie played on Saturday.

Defender Baba Mensah opened the scores when he the converted from the penalty kick in the 28th minute after Issah Yakubu was brought down in the box by Micheal Annan

Frederick Opoku Yamoah in the 44th minute ghosted past the visitors defense line to sneak in his first ever goal for Inter Allies and the second goal of the day.

Isaac Quansah got the consolation for the visitors in the 92nd minute and tried as the visitors did, they could not equalize.

Earlier in the 16th minute, Lions' Isaac Quansah attempt from a free kick was neatly parried out by Osei Kwame.

In the 47th minute Heart of Lions FC's Osman Sackey fires from outside the box but missed the target by inches.

Coach of Hearts of Lions, Abubakar Yussif put his side loss to lack of determination in the opening minutes of the match. Indeed for the first 30 minutes of the game, Inter Allies were more determined and pushing hard for the opener.

In the second half, Captain for Heart of Lions, John Koffour was sent off after a second yellow card offense in the 69th minute and this further put pressure on the visitors.

Coach Yussif was however hopeful that the team will survive the relegation battle with five matches left. "Relegation is knocking the doors of so many clubs on the league log. Those even behind our team will tell you they are not going to relegation so up to now nobody wants to go so we will keep pushing"he said

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin of Inter Allies said his aside controlled the game for a greater part of the game only to lose concentration in the dying embers leading to the consolation goal.

He was however hopeful that his side will amass more points in the coming games and ensure his team is safe in the league.
