Inter Allies hold AshGold

Akatsi-based referee, David Suker, and his two assistants were yesterday whisked away by police personnel from angry AshGold fans after their 1-1 drawn match with bottom club Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi.

The home fans charged towards the referee in protest at what they maintained was a bad free-kick awarded the visitors which enabled them to score the equaliser.

But for Allies, it was a reward for their spirited second half display yesterday after going down in the first half in which the Aboakese lads dominated early proceedings and went ahead through Gafaru Nasiru who headed home a cross by Osei Emmanuel.

The visitors came back in the second half full of fight but their efforts were often resisted by the AshGold defence until injury time when they earned a free-kick in the vital area.

Substitute Fatawu Safiu delivered an intelligent shot which beat the AshGold defenders including, keeper Robert  Dabuo for the equaliser.
