Kennedy Ashia back to Liberty

Liberty Professionals’ coach, George Lamptey, says the chances of his team have been  boosted by the arrival of striker Kennedy Ashia after his loan spell with Norwegian side SK Brann.

The return of the former Satellites striker comes at a time the club has lost Joseph Mensah to  Slavia Prague of Czech Republic.

Coach Lamptey had run out of options going into the second round of the Premier League but the return of his former striker appeared to have filled the void.

“I am really glad Kennedy is back with us again and I think he will replace Mensah going into the second round,” Coach Lamptey told Graphic Sports last Friday.

Liberty Professionals have been preparing towards the second round of the Premier League which kicks off on Sunday.

They have so far lost 1-2 to Istanbul FC and held Amidaus Professionals to a 2-2 draw.

Coach Lamptey  conceded that going away to play Heart of Lions in their first match when the league resumes would be a difficult task.

“I will be glad if we return from Kpando with a point.

“We won against them here in Accra so they will do everything possible to win at their  home”, he stated.
