Medeama determined to win FA Cup - Commey
Medeama SC will seek to be third time lucky in winning a trophy this season when they face Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the final of the MTN FA Cup slated for the Accra Stadium on Sunday.
Albert Commey, executive vice president of Medeama, says his charges are bent on winning a trophy after losing out on the Premiership and the President’s Cup within a week.
Mr Commey reckons beating Kotoko, who are chasing a double after clinching the league title, will be difficult but insists "we are very motivated to take advantage of the strength within our team to push for a result."
"We understand it will be very difficult, especially because it will be against a team that has been there before, but we are working very hard for glory. Kotoko are hoping for a double; they have quality and we are aware of that."
Medeama made a strong case for a first Premiership glory this season but lost out at the homestretch, and Commey believes the ‘mauve and yellow’ could be third time lucky given the hard work the team had undergone.
He said the team was adequately putting final touches to their preparations in search of their first domestic trophy.
"We were hoping to win the league and the President’s Cup; but after losing both we are determined to make amends with another opportunity at winning a trophy."
Medeama ended Hearts of Oak’s dream of a place in the final by beating the Phobians in the penultimate round.
Meanwhile, in addition to all the MTN products (MTN credits, MTN T-shirts etc) to be made available on Sunday, MTN is also giving fans an opportunity to win mobile phones, MTN credit, computers, modems and other products by predicting the winner of the match on MTN Short Code 1994.
The rates for the big game are Popular Stand - GH¢2, Osu Stand - GH¢3, VIP Lower/Upper - GH¢5 (GH¢1 MTN credit inclusive) and VVIP Stand - GH¢10 (GH¢2 MTN credit included)
