PHOTOS: Black Stars visit site of devastating Goil fuel station fire

The Black Stars have visited the site of the Goil fuel station fire at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, where about 100 people lost their lives.

Players, technical and management members of the team visited the site to pay respect to the lost lives and pray for the dead, injured and all victims of the unfortunate incident.

They also donated Ghc50,000 to the victims of the disaster.

The players were said to have been devastated by the disaster which occurred on June 3 – a day after they began non-residential camping for 2015 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius.

The Black Stars observed a minute's silence before kick-off in Monday’s friendly against Togo in honour of the lives that were lost in the Accra floods and fire disaster.

Coach Avram Grant and his team will begin their quest to qualify for the 2017 AFCON when they face their Mauritian counterparts at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
