Junior Agogo reveals struggles with speech following stroke

Former Ghana international Manuel "Junior" has granted his first official interview since suffering a debilitating stroke two years ago.

The 38-year-old in an interview in a BBC Four documentary titled Speechless revealed his troubles with speech following the illness which he says has left him lacking confidence and socially isolated.

The former Nottingham Forest and Bristol Rovers striker suffered the stroke in January 2015 soon after retiring from football, this subsequently led to Aphasia, which severely affects a person’s ability to use language.

A first-half hat-trick by former Ghana youth star Sadick Adams won the 2017 MTN FA Cup title for Kumasi Asante Kotoko after they produced a dominant 3-1 result over bitter-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tamale Stadium on Sunday.

Adams started his memorable treble with a well-placed shot from inside the box in the first minute.

Nyantakyi appointed onto FIFA Foundation Board

World soccer governing body, FIFA, has appointed GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, as a member of the board to steer the affairs of its newly established foundation, the FIFA Foundation.

Mr Nyantakyi was appointed during the meeting of the FIFA Council in Kolkata, India on Friday.

Tight security for FA Cup final

Stringent security measures have been put in place by the Northern Regional Police Command to ensure an incident-free and successful hosting of the MTN FA Cup final between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The security arrangement put in place in collaboration with the various security agencies, is to ensure that fans, players, officials, dignitaries, among others, are protected and also ensure the free flow of vehicular traffic in and around the stadium.

Hearts, Kotoko in grudge match

Pride will be at stake tomorrow when old rivalry is renewed by Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko clash at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the MTN FA Cup final. 

The match is expected to be as riveting as previous clashes between the two arch-rivals who have old scores to settle, including the disputed 1990 FA Cup final which has still not been settled after Kotoko won the match but still lost the trophy on technical grounds.
