How to do self-placement if you have not yet been offered admission by the University of Ghana
The University of Ghana has announced a Self-Placement service for qualified applicants who have not yet received admission for the 2024/2025 academic year.
According to a public notice published on Friday, 17 January 2025, the service is available to applicants who did not qualify for their initially selected programmes but meet the requirements for alternative courses of study.
Steps to complete self-placement
Eligible applicants are required to:
1. Log in to the UG undergraduate application portal (https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions2022/graduate/login) using their Application Serial Number and PIN.
2. Click on the Self-Placement menu within the portal.
3. Select a preferred campus and programme from the available options.
4. Access a provisional admission letter after 48 hours and enrol before the stipulated deadline.
Important information
The notice further highlighted that:
- Programme availability is subject to quotas and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The Self-Placement service is only available to applicants who meet the admission criteria for alternative programmes.
- This opportunity will end with the conclusion of the current admissions cycle.
The Director of Admissions, Mrs Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, emphasised the importance of taking prompt action. For further assistance, applicants are advised to contact the Admissions Assistance Desk.
