Enyimba dismiss link with Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu

Nigerian giants Enyimba have dismissed reports that they are interested in signing Ghana deputy coach Maxwell Konadu after he led the Black Stars B to the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations title.

The reports suggested that, the Nigeria Professional Football League side were courting Konadu after he masterminded a 4-1 victory over Nigeria in the WAFU final on Sunday.

Princesses host Algeria - In 2018 World Cup qualifier

Ghana's female Under-20 football team, the Black Princesses, will host their Algerian counterparts in the second leg of their 2018 Women’s World Cup (WWC) qualifier at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.

The Princesses won the first leg played in Algiers two weeks by five goals to nil and are hoping to build upon that advantage to qualify for the second round of the qualifying campaign.

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi, has described as immeasureable, the exemplary contribution of the late Sly Tetteh to the development of football across the continent which is worth emulating.

Making the presentation at the inaugural forum in memory of the late Sly Tetteh, co-founder of Liberty Professionals at the Tang Palace hotel in Accra last Friday, the FA boss eulogised the late football administrator for the professionalism and the business dimension he introduced in the running of football in the country and on the continent.

Sanford Women’s FA Cup - Police Ladies in final again

Police Ladies are on course to defend the Sanford Women’s FA Cup title they won last season, after ditching Immigration Ladies yet again in their semi-final clash last Saturday.

In what was a replay of last season’s semi-finals, Police Ladies beat their rivals, Immigration Ladies 4-3 on penalties to advance to the final, their second successive appearance.

Tetteh deserves to be celebrated — Hadzide

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide, wants the memory of the late Alhaji Sly Tetteh to be immortalized for his contribution to the development of sports in the country.

According to him, “a nation that does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for” he remarked during a legacy lecture organised in the memory of the late football administrator at the Tang Palace hotel in Accra last Friday.

Ghana’s Black Princesses will host the second leg of the first round of the 2018 Under-20 Women’s World Cup (WWC) against Algeria at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.

The Princesses won the first leg played in Algiers two weeks ago by five goals to nil and will be hoping to complete the job in Accra to advance to the second round of the qualifiers.

2017 Homowo races start today

Government will ensure football succeeds in Ghana - Dr Bawumia

Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stressed that although the government does not intend interfering in the management of football at the national level, it will create the enabling environment aimed at ensuring that such management inure to the benefit of Ghanaians.

Towards that end, he said, the government had very high expectations of the administrators of football in the country because, “we want to make sure that football does well and is governed properly and so we will do everything in our capacity to support the development of football.”
