Maidens ready for The Gambia

The female Under-17 football team, the Black Maidens have left for The Gambia, to honour their 2018 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup (WWC) qualifiers.

The Maidens play the Baby Scorpions in the first leg of the first round qualifier on Saturday at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

Ahead of the match, Maidens' Head Coach, Evans Adotey, insists their intention is to qualify for their fifth WWC and are ready for the Gambia challenge.

Coach Adotey admits they do not have enough knowledge about their opponents but will also not take them for granted, else they get stunned.

"Having been to the WWC on four consecutive times, we are hoping to pick our fifth qualification to the competition to be held in Uruguay in November.

" We know the task ahead and we are ready for the challenge. We have prepared well and hopefully, we can pull off a good result in The Gambia," Coach Adotey told the Daily Graphic.

He said a new team was being put together and was so far happy with what was being achieved.
