Tennis: Agyare, Lawrencia win Donyma tourney
Two tennis budding talents, Eric Agyare Asante and Lawrecia, brought fans onto their feet with some unblemished display of tennis prowess winning their respective male and female final in the annual Donyma 4 Garrison Amateurs Singles Tennis competition at the 4 Garrison court in Kumasi on Farmers Day.
Both players took advantage of their one-sided dominance to lift the ultimate trophy and some souvenirs from the company which manufactures and deals with roofing sheets and other steel materials.

Eric easily beat William Boateng 7-2 in the final. William gave a false impression of himself with an initial baseline rallying but quickly surrendered to the more focused Eric who punished him with some ground strokes.
Eric was in the driving seat for most part of the game and it was surprising that William could recover temporarily to win two of the games.
The results notwithstanding, the match was a thrilling one as fans were brought to their feet ceaselessly and could only admire in awe.
Indeed, Eric was in amazing form from the start of the one-day competition which featured some of the best youngsters in the Ashanti Region. He accounted for one Frimpong and later defeated Tony Tuffour 6-2 to book a date with Eric in the final.
Despite his loss, William also rose over Isaac Owusu 6-0 and Amoah Siaw 6-2 until he was completely shattered by Eric in the final.
Just as Eric, Lawrecia was simply awesome with her backhand delivery which was her main tramp card.

Her powerful serves easily dazed Paulina Asemiteng beating her 4-0 in the semi-final after Monique had also silenced Linda Oduro at the same stage to set a tantalising final between the two winners.
But the final turned out to be an easy ride for Lawrencia who outclassed Monique 6-3 to lift the female trophy.
The Operations Manager of Donyma, Kwaku Appiah Kubi, obviously thrilled by the high level of performance, promised to give more towards the sport not only to 4 Garrison but towards a national cause.
He was not specific though but said the sponsorship package for next year was going to be increased to give more tangible prizes to the winners.
