Dislike for pork prevented me from excelling in Korea football - George Alhassan

Topscorer of the 1982 AFCON, George Alhassan says he was unable to make an impact in South Korea during his playing days because of his strong dislike for pork meat.

According to Alhassan, who joined Ulsan Hyundai FC in 1984 from FC 105 in Gabon, at the time pork was the main delicacy in the Asian country and he did not like it.

Wladimir Klitschko retires and will not fight Anthony Joshua in rematch

Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko has retired from boxing - ruling out a rematch with Britain's Anthony Joshua.

The Ukrainian, 41, was knocked out in the 11th round by current champion Joshua at Wembley Stadium in April.

Cricket League - Nsromma Titans crowned champions

Nsromma Titans have been crowned champions of this season’s Greater Accra Cricket League (GACL) after beating the maiden champions, Everest, in a nerve-racking game at the Achimota Cricket Oval over the weekend.

Nsromma maintained a 100 per cent winning record in the six-club league to be crowned champions, with five wins from five matches.

Kwasi Appiah and his backroom staff including Ibrahim Tanko (1st Assistant Coach), Maxwell Konadu (2nd Assistant coach), Richard Kingson (Goalkeepers Trainer) and Stephen Appiah (Technical Coordinator) have not received their salaries since they began their duties as handlers of the senior national team on May 1.
