Micho quits Uganda job

Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic resigned as Uganda coach last Saturday, six months after leading the team to the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 38 years.

The 47-year-old Serbian confirmed he was terminating his contract with the Cranes in a row over unpaid salary allowances totalling 216 million shillings ($64 000).

Arsenal lift Emirates Cup - Despite 1-2 loss to Sevilla

Arsenal won the Emirates Cup despite losing to Sevilla, with the record signing Alexandre Lacazette scoring his first goal at the Emirates.

Arsène Wenger’s strong Arsenal side lost 2-1 to Sevilla but a rule which counted goals scored among the overall points tally meant that the home team just edged the competition.

Businessman pleads with LADMA to save East La Sports Complex

A businessman, Ishmael Lamptey is calling for a meeting with authorities of the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LADMA) to determine the fate of the only astroturf pitch located at East La in Accra.

According to Mr Lamptey, he has been falsely accused of blocking the Kpeshie Lagoon to construct the facility known as East La Sports Complex but all efforts to reach the authorities to discuss the matter has proved futile.

Government seeks partnership from Malta for sports development

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is hopeful of securing a partnership with the government of Malta to fund the development of sports in the country.

I earned €7.5m in two years, money is no longer important to me - Gyan

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that money was not a factor in his decision to join Turkish club Kayerispor because he earned 7.5 million euros during his time in China with Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan joined Chinese Super League giants Shanghai SIPG in 2015 in a two-year deal which reportedly earned him in excess of £162,000 per week in wages.
