Ghanaian NBA star to promote basketball among youth

A Ghanaian professional basketball star in the National Basketball Association (NBA) will conduct two separate clinics for young players in Accra and Takoradi and Accra today and next week at the Takoradi Technical University and the University of Ghana courts respectively.

Ben Bentil, who plays for Boston Celtic in the NBA, is in the country to promote basketball through his NGO named Bentil Skills Camp, by providing the youth aged between 14 and 21 with elite training and modern techniques in the sport.

Turkish club Antalyaspor eyes Asamoah Gyan bargain transfer

Turkish Süper Lig side Antalyaspor have set their sets on signing Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan who will become a free agent when his current contract expires in July.

Gyan, 31, is on loan at UAE club Al Ahli Dubai from Chinese Super League campaigners Shanghai SIPG.

I’ll revive all sporting disciplines - Prez Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says his quest to help revive other sporting disciplines in the country, aside from football, was as a result of seeing himself grow up as an amateur boxer, footballer and a cricketer.

President Akufo-Addo, who was speaking at the launch of this year's GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human at the Adidas House in Accra last Tuesday, said that motivates him enough to help in reviving the dwindling fortunes of the various sporting disciplines in the country.

Ghana clash with Benin Sunday in Africa Rugby Challenge tourney

Team Ghana will open their Africa Rugby Challenge tournament West 1 against Benin on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium as they attempt to start on a high note.

Ghana will host Benin and Togo in this year's tournament slated for April 30 to May 7 in Accra, with Niger, Burundi and Lesotho set to host their respective editions at later dates.

Federation heads must be transparent - GOC President

The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo-Mensah, has called on the various federation heads to be transparent in their dealings with stakeholders to help attract corporate sponsorship.
