Activa Insurance gives gh¢30,000 to swag

Activa International Insurance has presented a cheque for GH¢30,000 as its contribution towards the annual SWAG Awards  event scheduled for the Banquet Hall of the State House on May 17.

Making the presentation, Mr Solomon Lartey,  chief operating officer of the company, said his outfit decided to sponsor the awards  for the second time running because the company believed the event was important to the development of sports in the country.

Mr Lartey underlined that Activa, which operates in over 38 countries in Africa, was the only insurance company in Ghana that provided Personal Accident Insurance for Sportsmen and sportswomen.

“The Personal Accident for Sportsmen and women is usually excluded under most local insurance policies, but we at Activa have gone further to provide this kind of protection because we are aware of the challenges our sportsmen and women face once they get injured,”  he stated.

Mr Ray Quarcoo, Goodwill Sports Ambassador and a patron of SWAG, who received the cheque, thanked  the company for its wonderful support and appealed to individuals and other corporate bodies to sponsor this year’s event, which is to celebrate the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
