Aduana Stars thump Hearts

Two first half goals scored by league leaders Aduana Stars were all that they needed to beat visiting Accra Hearts of Oak in their titanic encounter at the Osagyefo Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro yesterday.

The homesters combined brilliantly upfront right from the start of the game and succeeded in scoring the opener through a header by Daniel Darkwah as early as the eighth minute.

Even though the visitors made desperate attempts to equalise, the defence of Aduana, marshalled by Captain Godfred Saka, was resolute in preventing them from getting the equaliser.

The combination of Daniel Darkwah and Derrick Sasraku resulted in the second goal in the 17th minute when Sasraku headed home from close range.

Hearts' expatriate Coach, Frank Nuttall, made two quick changes after the interval by bringing in Cosmas Dauda for Daniel Kordie and Bright Lukeman for Samuel Yeboah in a desperate move to save the day.

Even though the changes enabled the visitors to come into the picture, their efforts could not yield any dividend.
