Adubea bangs in 5 goals - In 10-2 thriller
If there is anything constant in this season’s National Women’s League (NWL), it is goals which rained during the 12th week fixtures, with last season’s top scorer, Princella Adubea, leading the harvest.

Adubea scored five of the 10 goals to power defending champions, Ampem Darkoa, to a 10-2 mauling of Real Upper Ladies in their thriller on a weekend that recorded 33 goals.
Adubea, who won last season’s top scorer award with 16 goals, could surpass that target after scoring nine goals in just two successive matches. Last week, she scored four goals in Ampem Darkoa’s 5-0 win against Prisons Ladies.
The goal poacher told the Graphic Sports that she was happy to be back after a slow start this season.
“I didn’t get a perfect start this season and at a point I had to just watch my colleagues score. The important thing was that it didn’t get to me, and being patient has paid off.
“I set out to help my club retain the title we won last season and even win more. I’m glad we are on course and I think I can score more,” the striker, who was also crowned the 2016 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Best Female Footballer of the Year, said in excitement.
The big win saw Ampem Darkoa extending their lead in the northern zone, and also featured Fatima Adjei, Mavis Owusu (two), Justice Tweneboah and Gladys Appiah on the scoresheet.
Samaria Ladies also surprised themselves with their first-ever big win after trouncing Holy Royals 9-2 at Ayinanse.

A hat-trick from Deborah Opoku, a brace from Grace Animah, as well as goals from Elizabeth Oppong, Comfort Koramah, Juliet Abankwah and Salma Jibril Sai, helped the Accra-based team to their biggest-ever win in the NWL and further condemned Holy Royals to relegation.

Lady Strikers maintained their grip on the table in the southern zone as a brace from Gladys Amfobea and Ruth Appiah helped them to a 3-1 win over Hasaacas Ladies, who had a consolation goal from Lily Niber-Lawrence, while Theresa Cobbinah’s goal helped Elmina Sea Lions to a 1-0 away win over Soccer Intellectuals.
Immigration Ladies lost out on the fight for the title as Philicity Asuako’s lone strike helped Police Ladies to a 1-0 win and a sweet revenge against their rivals.
In the northern zone, Alice Kusi and Sarah Boakye scored, while Mukarama Abdulai got the consolation in a 2-1 win for Fabulous Ladies against Northern Ladies, while Hannah Agyei’s lone goal helped Ashtown Ladies to stun Lepo Ladies 1-0 at Tamale.
The only game which did not record any goal was at the Prempeh College Park where Kumasi Soccer Academy Ladies were held to a goalless draw by visiting Prisons Ladies.
