Bashir Hayford, Richmond Opoku receive NASCO Ghana Premier League monthly awards
Electroland Ghana Limited, the sole distributors of NASCO Electronics and official electronics sponsor of the Ghana Premier League, has presented prizes to the winners of the NASCO Coach and Player of the Month awards for September.
Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford and Young Apostles striker Richmond Opoku were honoured for their outstanding performances during the month.
Hayford guided Heart of Lions to an unbeaten run, securing three consecutive wins, while Opoku netted three goals to earn recognition as the league’s best player for the month.
The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Electroland Ghana head office in Accra.
For his exploits, Opoku received a 40-inch digital satellite television and a double-door refrigerator with a bottom freezer. Hayford was rewarded with a 43-inch NASCO television and a chest freezer.
The prizes were presented by Electroland’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Mrs. Adiza Ibrahim, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian football through its partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
“Our relationship with the FA and the league started in 2017, and I will say it’s been good. It is an everlasting partnership, and we will always be there to support our players and coaches for what they do for this country,” Mrs. Ibrahim said.
She explained that NASCO’s investment in football over the years was driven by a passion to motivate athletes and coaches to excel. “What we have put into the league is a lot, and I cannot begin to quantify it. For eight years, we have supported players and coaches, but the joy for us at NASCO Electronics is that there’s motivation to do more because of what we give them,” she added.
This year, NASCO extended its sponsorship to the Division One League and the Women’s Premier League, providing prizes to encourage excellence across all levels of Ghanaian football.
In the Division One League, Man of the Match award winners receive NASCO pressing irons, while the Player of the Month and Coach of the Month winners are presented with 24-inch and 32-inch NASCO television sets respectively.
“In the Women’s Premier League, we are giving the Player of the Month a 40-inch NASCO television and a four-burner NASCO gas cooker. It used to be just a NASCO television, but we have increased the incentives,” Mrs. Ibrahim said.
She stressed that Electroland Ghana’s commitment to football development remains firm, promising continued support to inspire players, coaches and clubs nationwide.
