Black Challenge qualify after beating Liberia 5-0
Ghana’s quest to win gold in the amputee football at the ongoing Accra 2023 Paralympic Games is on course as the Black Challenge beat their Liberia counterparts 5-1 to qualify to the knockout stage of the competition.
The host went into the game needing victory after the upset from Morocco who defeated them 2-1 in their second game.

Mohammad Mubarak put the Ghanaians in front just four minutes into the game before his teammates, Hamza Mohammed and Collins Gyamfi all scored to cushion the lead before recess.
The Black Challenge were not satisfied by their lead and continued to knock on the doors of the Liberians after recess.
It didn’t take long when Ussif Yahaya scored before Mubarak also scored his second goal of the day and to increase the tally to 5-0
Speaking after the win, the head coach of the Black Challenge, Stephen Richard Obeng, said, “The win means a lot to me and every Ghanaian because the Black Stars also qualified [to AFCON 2024] just like we did. We had to put yesterday’s loss behind us and bounce back in this one.”
“We expect a massive game in the next round, and we’ll go all out. This is Ghana, and everyone will be watching us. Hopefully, by Sunday, we will be champions”, the coach added.
