Boxing: Patrick Allotey slapped with 6-month suspension by GBA
The Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA) has placed a six-month injunction on former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa super lightweight champion, Patrick Allotey for assaulting a Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan on January 26 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The suspension which came into effect on February 6 after a meeting of the GBA executives and the boxer at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra is expected to end in August.
The 29-year-old boxer who lost a world title fight against Mexican Jaime Munguia in September last year is already being investigated by the Ministry’s Police where he has been charged for assault.

He was caught on camera assaulting a fan named Michael Siaw during the Super Clash between Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.
According to his management, Cabic Promotions, they will appeal the suspension calling it harsh.

His victim Michael Siaw who had a cut in his left eye is said to be recuperating steadily.
