Cabic Promotions set to unleash young lads on September 13

Cabic Boxing Promotions and Management is set to light up the boxing scene with a thrilling ten-bout event at the Idrowhyt Events Centre in Akokofoto, Dansoman, Accra, on September 13.

The night promises to deliver high-octane action, headlined by a compelling super featherweight clash.

The main event will feature an eight-round super featherweight bout between the rising star Emmanuel Mankatah Sackey and the ambitious newcomer, Sunday Adeleye.

Sackey, 26, boasts a professional record of nine fights, including two losses and a draw. He last made headlines with a third-round knockout victory over Daniel Tetteh at the Idrowhyt Events Centre in June.

Adeleye, 25, has competed in six professional bouts, securing three wins, two losses and a draw. His most recent victory came against Enoch Lamptey at the Bukom Boxing Arena on March 5.

Ivan Bruce Cudjoe, CEO of Cabic Promotions and owner of the Idrowhyt Events Centre, has expressed his dissatisfaction with recent bouts that seemed contrived and staged. “We will not tolerate such fights at the centre again,” Mr Cudjoe declared. “I will not sponsor or pay the purse of boxers involved in such activities. Boxing deserves better and I urge all fighters to give their best, as it is their career.”

Mr Cudjoe encouraged boxers to aim beyond short-term gains and strive for excellence in order to attract significant international bouts, which come with substantial rewards and recognition.

He cited legendary figures like Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey as role models for aspiring boxers.

Kofi Dana will meet Richard Amenfu in another eight-round welterweight contest, and Jedidiah Doku will square off against a yet-to-be-announced opponent in a light heavyweight fight.

Further bouts will include boxers Mohammed Aryeetey, Theophilus Allotey, Emmanuel Mawuli, Jessie Lartey, and Elvis Ahorgah, who will each face opponents yet to be announced.
