Mambo was appointed caretaker coach of the Obuasi side yesterday hours after the sudden resignation of head coach Bashir Hayford, who decided to abandon his sinking club who lie last but one on the Premier League log.

In his resignation, letter Hayford noted that his best effort had not produced the best results yet for the club and felt the most honourable thing to do was to resign.

“It does not take the frog too long a time to jump out of boiling water. Necessary evil is sometimes done to put things right,” stated the coach who two seasons ago steered Ashgold to their first Premier League title in 19 years.

Against Bolga All Stars who have lost all four away games this season, Ashgold’s caretaker coach Mambo should inspire his players to capitalise on their territorial advantage to chalk up their third win of the season.
