Coach Nurudeen: FC Samartex will be target for clubs in second round

The head coach of FC Samartex 1996, Nurudeen Amadu, is aware that his team will be the target of other clubs in the second round of the league due to their impressive performance in the current season.

To counter this, he has set a goal to recruit established players, referred to as "big names", to strengthen the squad and avoid falling prey to challenges from bigger clubs aiming to unseat them from the top of the league standings.

“The second round will be tougher than we think, and as it is now, everybody will be looking at us. If we play any match, it will be like the grand finale, so it is not something that we need to sleep over,” he told Graphic Sports in an interview last Tuesday.

Coach Nurudeen emphasised the need for seasoned players during the recruitment process, stating that the incoming players in the second transfer window must be ready to contribute actively to the team.

He clarified that these players should not be mere benchwarmers but individuals who can immediately fit into the team and make a positive impact.

“That is what we intend to do. Normally, those players coming in during the second window must be seasoned players, not players who are coming to sit on the bench,” he told Graphic Sports.

The strategy outlined by the coach indicates a proactive approach to maintain the team's competitiveness and solidify their position at the summit of the league log. By targeting experienced players, Samartex aims to enhance its chances of success in the face of increased competition and attention from other clubs in the second round of the league.

Coach Nurudeen Amadu acknowledges that the club has identified some talents they are interested in recruiting.

“Yes, we have identified some. However, sometimes, you don’t know the contractual issues, but we’ll see how it goes when the transfer window opens,” he admitted.

However, he also recognised the importance of approaching these potential recruits with caution, considering the uncertainty surrounding their contractual obligations to their current clubs. The coach is keen on avoiding any legal battles or disputes that may arise from the recruitment process.

This cautious approach reflects the club's commitment to conducting its transfer activities ethically and within the bounds of existing contracts and regulations.

It's common for clubs to engage in negotiations with players while being mindful of potential contractual constraints and legal implications to ensure a smooth and fair transition.

By exercising caution in their approach to potential recruits, Samartex aims to navigate the transfer process responsibly and avoid any complications that could arise from disagreements over player contracts.

This approach aligns with the club's desire to reinforce its squad with talented players in a manner that is both effective and legally sound.
