Cricket: Diwali Cup continues Sun
The final group games of the Diwali Cup T20 Cricket tournament organised by the Indian Association of Ghana and the Ghana Cricket Association were played at the Achimota Cricket Oval last Sunday.
In the first game of Pool B, Bel Aqua who have already qualified to the semis took on Godrej Cricket Club. Batting first Godrej were restricted to 76 runs for nine wickets in their 20 overs thanks to a good spell of spin bowling by fast bowler Viveak who took four wickets for 18 runs.
The second game was between Everest Cricket Club and Kotobabi Knight Riders (KKR) to decide the second team to join Bel Aqua into the semis in Pool B.
Everest batted first and backed by a superb knock of 67 runs from 45 balls by batsman Ajay who set a target of 136 for Kotobabi Knight Riders.
The Knight Riders were bowled out for 74 in the 16th over, with Rahul taking 3 wickets for 5 runs. Everest qualified as the group runners-up.
The semi-finals will be played this Sunday, with BGC taking on Everest Cricket Club in the first semi final and Bel Aqua playing Super Max in the second semi-final duel.
