Daniel Kenu's blood pressure rises after Gyan assault
The Ashanti Regional Editor of the Graphic newspapers, Daniel Kenu, is expected to face his assailants in court on Friday as hearing continues in an assault case against former Black Stars striker Baffour Gyan and an accomplice, Samuel Anim Addo.
The accused persons both pleaded not guilty and the court, presided over by William Boampong, admitted them to a bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with two sureties to be justified.

Mr Kenu, who was assaulted last Friday while in the line of duty by a group led by Baffour Gyan, underwent a CT scan and a thorough medical checkup which revealed his blood pressure had risen to dangerous levels as a result of the trauma he suffered following the attack.
He was warned by doctors to take good care of himself as his blood pressure was rising and could lead to stroke. Subsequently, he has been advised to limit phone calls or at worst switch off his phone to lower the stress levels.
On Monday he underwent a CT scan under the supervision of Dr A. A. Frimpong, a consultant radiologist at Medilap, a Kumasi-based medical laboratory facility located opposite the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi.
Baffour Gyan, elder brother of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, allegedly led thugs to attack the Graphic Sports correspondent at the Baba Yara Stadium where he had gone to process his accreditation for last Saturday’s African Nations Cup qualifier between Ghana and Uganda in Kumasi. The match ended 1-1.
Mr Kenu claimed he was assaulted by Baffour Gyan and his accomplices who were angered by a question he asked the Black Stars captain at a press conference a day earlier at the Miklin Hotel, over the disappearance of Hiplife star and a friend of Asamoah, Castro, during holidays at Ada two months ago.
