FIFA, GFA begin capacity building for women’s Division One League club administrators

Eighty women football administrators have commenced a three-day workshop focusing on strategic planning, communication, marketing skills, and leadership at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Greater Accra.

The course, which began yesterday and will conclude on Saturday, aims to enhance the capacity of these administrators to achieve the highest standards in women’s football.

This workshop is part of an initiative to equip administrators with essential skills needed to run and lead clubs, marking a significant step towards professionalism and sustainability in women's football.

The programme, a collaboration between FIFA and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is being conducted by FIFA expert Thubaelihle Sibanda.

Sibanda highlighted that the course would provide Ghanaian women with a solid foundation in football professionalism.  
"Capacity building for football administrators is one of FIFA's Women's Football Development programmes. The goal is to bring the game to as many communities as possible," she stated.

She continued, "Through this programme, we aim to work with administrators globally, empowering them with the skills necessary to manage clubs and guide them towards professionalism and sustainability."

The Head of Women’s Football Development at the GFA, Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, elaborated on the decision to focus on Division One club administrators in this capacity-building initiative.
 
"These individuals are vital to the management of teams, handling the day-to-day operations of the club. That’s why we included them, to impart knowledge that they can take back and implement," she explained.
